About Us
Welcome to the Online Quilt Museum.com
Karen Griska founded the Online Quilt Museum.com in 2009 to be an elegant venue where quilters can exhibit their work to a worldwide audience. Making a quilt is its own reward, but to also exhibit the finished product is better. "Otherwise, we are like heroines in unpublished novels!" she says.
When a quilter creates her own Gallery of quilts, and then views them all as a collection in one place, it's a joyful and satisfying experience. It brings into sharper focus each quilter’s own creative journey. Quilters gain exposure and affirmation while inspiring each other to greater accomplishment.

Meet Karen Griska
I am passionate about making quilts and encouraging quilters. I enjoy some aspect of quilting almost every day. I've made well over 200 quilts since my first one in 1966. I particularly love making improvisational quilts, string quilts, crazy quilts, postage stamp quilts, and Amish style quilts. I love to study antique quilts, and I spend a lot of time reading the state quilt survey books. I love to find great fabrics to add to my stash. I'll drive hours to see a quilt show or exhibit, and I never miss the "show & tell" portion of my guild meetings. I want to hear the quilter's story about her project, including her source of inspiration, her design considerations, any dilemmas she faced, who she made it for, and how she likes the result. Every quilt has an interesting story if you are patient.
Take a look at my book: "Quilts from the Selvage Edge" published by AQS. You may be inspired to use your selvages to make one of the quilts in the book, or to create your own design. It's fun.
My husband and I live in the beautiful hills of Litchfield, CT. We have two grown sons, a photographer in NYC/NJ and a philosopher in Nashville, TN. We enjoy hiking, photography, watching movies, eating pizza, and visiting with family.
